Size guide
Three sizes. Measured, not guessed.
The Madrid is one silhouette in three scales. The number is the width across the base in centimetres. Below are the exact measurements, what fits in each, and how to choose.
The measurements
| Size | Width × height × depth | Best for | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Madrid 25 | 25 × 19 × 13 cm | Evening and essentials | $325 |
| Madrid 30our pick | 30 × 22 × 16 cm | The everyday size, and our pick | $445 |
| Madrid 35 | 35 × 26 × 18 cm | Work and travel | $545 |
Measured across the base, at the tallest point of the body excluding the handles, and across the base from front to back.

What fits
Madrid 25. Phone, cardholder, lipstick, key. It is the evening bag and the one for people who carry little. It does not take a tablet.
Madrid 30. A 13-inch laptop sleeve, a wallet, a paperback, a water bottle. It is the size that goes to the office and out to dinner without changing. If you are between sizes, choose this one.
Madrid 35. A laptop, charger, headphones, a change of shoes. It is a work bag that still stands as a top-handle. Choose it if a laptop goes everywhere you do.
How to choose
Lay out what you carry on a normal day and measure the largest item. The bag's opening is slightly narrower than the base width, so allow a centimetre or two. A phone, a slim wallet and keys fit in every size. A 13-inch laptop in a sleeve needs the 30 or the 35. A change of shoes or a full day's papers needs the 35.
All three sizes are built the same way: 1.4 mm full-grain Tuscan calfskin, solid brass hardware, four brass feet, saddle-stitched handles.
If the size you chose is wrong when it arrives, exchange it. You have 30 days from delivery, and we pay the shipping both ways.
